| SAM Lite has the following requirements: | |
| Operating System | Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional. Initial testing on Vista has been carried out without any compatability problems found. |
| Installation Size | Is less than 40 megabytes - you will need additional storage for master themes and data held in the Temporary Work Areas. |
| Processor and Memory | SAM has been tested on Microsoft/VMWare Virtual Machines running Windows 2000 Professional and XP Professional. When running the Iterative Best Guess algorithm, no visible and unexpected degradation in throughput was apparent. In most sites however, the amount of data would dictate 512 Megabytes of memory or more and a current high-end CPU. The savings in human time will pay for the extra costs in hardware. |
| Supported Formats | SAM Lite supports ESRI Shape Files, MapInfo TAB Files, AutoCad DXF Files and ECW Files. Some data is stored in Microsoft Access databases. |
| Dependant Software | SAM and SAM Lite use ERMapper's ecwActiveXControls.exe to read and display ecw files. This may be downloaded from www.ermapper.com if not supplied otherwise. |
| Activation | SAM Lite must be activated in order to be used. Upon initial use, you will be prompted to enter some contact details and a valid email address.
