| SAM Lite Specifications: | |
| SAM Lite may be run in "Trial Mode" or "Production Mode": | |
| SAM Lite Trial Version |
SAM Lite operates on a Temporary Work Area not more that 0.1 square kilometers (100,000 square metres). SAM Lite enforces a limited duration trial mode and will cease to operate SAM Functionality after the license period expires. In all other ways, SAM Lite in "Trial Mode" is functionally the same as in "Production Mode". |
| SAM Lite Production Version |
SAM Lite has no limit on the size of the Temporary Work Area, but realistically 10 Km2 should be perfectly possible on minimum hardware. SAM Lite has been built to process 100 Km2 Temporary Work Areas but data to test this limit has not yet been available. |
| Iterative Best Guess Algorithm | The Iterative Best Guess algorithm has been built well after the development of the 'Least Squares Adjustment' algorithm. The LSA definately gives better placement of the upgraded spatial features, and has a much greater capacity to maintain regular features such as circular arc, right angled features, long straight lines and parallel lines. The LSA is very rugged and highly optimised and has been tuned and developed further to deal with the variety of circumstances in spatial data. However, there are circumstances where the solution cannot achieve a solution and the IBG is used to provide coordinate values for the 'unsolved' points. The IBG runs in significantly less time, and always produces a result. It is expected that further work on the IBG will significantly address some of the regular geometry problems such as arcs and right-angled features. |
